When it comes to an event that depicts joy and happiness the colour that is often used is white. It is for these reasons that most brides choose a dress of white to symbolise purity of the soul.
In Ghana when a woman puts to bed, the person often wears white for a period to signify a successful delivery and appreciation to God for adding another person to the family.
When it comes to religious activities such as baptism, confirmation and thanksgiving, people love to clad in all white.
Also widows are made to wear white in certain cultures after mourning their love ones after the widowhood rite.
When we chalk a milestone in our age, career or graduation some people wear white or even splash white powder on themselves to depict success.
White is often used to represent coolness and simplicity. White’s association with cleanliness and sterility is often seen in hospitals, medical centres, and laboratories to communicate safety.
This is why doctors and some nurses wear white because it is a calm and friendly colour that will make anyone feel at home.
Colour psychologists believe the colour white affects the mind and body by aiding in mental clarity, promoting feelings of fresh beginnings and renewal, assisting in cleansing, clearing obstacles and clutter, and encouraging the purification of thoughts and actions.
There are a variety of colours that fall under the category of "white," though most shades can either be considered a bright white or an off-white. Bright white is more like a piece of paper, and off-white is a softer, less bright colour.
Match bright, “pure” white trousers, shorts, leggings or skirts with cooler tones. For neutrals, go with black, gray, and silver. For colours, choose blues, purples, and blue-tinted greens like turquoise.
You can also match cream or off-white pants with warmer tones. Tan, brown, and gold make the best options for neutrals.
For colours, go with reds, oranges, yellow-tinted greens, and red-tinted purples like magenta.
Break away from the usual black and white and try other white combinations.
