Music Career & Early Life

His nickname “KillBeatz” was given him by his childhood friend and Ghanaian rapper, Omar Sterling (Paedae) of R2Bees.

The award-winning music producer started off as a drummer and keyboardist playing for his Church choir at the age of 16.

He somewhat ‘backslid’ and went into the production of secular music instead of his first love, gospel music.

Killbeatz who later became a rapper started producing his own songs after he felt not too pleased with the “output” of one of his songs which was produced by another record producer.

He registered his disappointment with the studio manager and even challenged him (the studio manager) that he (Killbeatz) could do better than the resident producer.

Killbeatz proved his worth after he was given the chance by the studio manager who told him to start work the next day and the rest, they say, is history.

The song that shot Killbeatz to fame was “I dey Mad” by R2Bees — originally made up of three members including Paedae, Mugees, and Unda (who is no more with the group).

Killbeatz as an artiste recently debuted his first ever single titled “Bokor Bokor” which features Fuse ODG and Mugeez (R2Bees).

Kaywa’s influence on Killbeatz

Giant Ghanaian record producer, Kaywa helped and taught Killbeatz in his early days of music production on how to mix and master music.

Most of the songs which were earlier produced by Killbeatz were properly mixed and mastered by Kaywa before they were released.

Top Artistes Killbeatz has worked with

From the beginning of his career, Killbeatz used to produce music for others just for the love of it.

What that did for him was to get more clients but never got a penny from the start.
